Reservations are normally confirmed on a "4 p.m. hold" basis, meaning that the room may be resold after 4 p.m. Travelers who expect to arrive later should request a guaranteed reservation at time of booking, or if delayed, call prior to scheduled arrival and request a "late check-in".
This also means, though, that the traveler is obligated to pay for the room, regardless of whether or not it was used, unless the reservation is cancelled by 4 p.m., local time, day of arrival (Bay Travel can cancel it for you when you call).
If you are a "no show", the first night's cost (plus taxes) is charged to you and the balance of the reservation is released.
Always keep a record of the cancellation number or other proof, such as the date, time, and name of the person accepting the cancellation at the hotel, particularly if the reservation was guaranteed. This protects you from unwarranted "no show" charges.
